About Us

Working towards an Africa where everyone can live a life of dignity.

Who we are

Growing up in Benin City, Nigeria, a place marked by hardship, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by every child, mother, and family. I understand the struggle of finding your voice, daring to dream, and aspiring to something greater than the circumstances life has given. In those moments of need, I have come to believe that a helping hand is a gift from God.

Mark Ihonre, Founder

Mark Ihonre Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities by amplifying the voices of the marginalized and advocating for their rights. Its mission is to create lasting change by addressing issues like poverty, education, health care, and gender inequality, particularly in underserved regions.

Founded on the belief that every individual deserves to be heard and have access to basic human rights, Mark Ihonre Foundation focuses on providing resources, support, and platforms to those whose voices often go unheard. The organization's programs are designed to uplift children, women, and marginalized communities, helping them break the cycle of poverty and realize their potential.

How we work

From idea to impact in four stages.

  1. 01

    Listen

We spend time in communities before proposing anything. What do people actually need? Who is already working on it? What has been tried before?

  2. 02

    Design

Programmes are shaped with local leaders, community members and the relevant government bodies — not handed down from outside.

  3. 03

    Deliver

We fund and run the work with honest tracking of who is reached, what changes, and where the gaps remain.

  4. 04

    Report

We publish dated updates, including setbacks, so supporters and communities can see exactly how their trust is being used.
